Economic Distress/Assistance

Economic Distress/Assistance

FEGS offers a number of programs that address Economic Distress/Assistance:

Project Maze - Assisting individuals and families coping with economic challenges to assess their eligibility for benefits, entitlements and increasing their access to resources and services.

LI Senior Support Network (UJA-Federation of New York Safety Net program)  - With Safety Net funding from UJA-Federation of New York, FEGS established a partnership with JASA to launch the Long Island Senior Support Network (LISSN), which identifies and responds to the needs of Jewish individuals aging in place, who are coping with economic distress. The LISSN initiative provides assessment, case management interventions, assistance navigating and improving access to benefits/entitlements and critical services, counseling, volunteer-based services and emergency cash assistance services that strengthen the economic security of participants. LISSN helps to improve the overall functioning and financial stability of older Jewish individuals on Long Island who are coping with economic distress.
