Making a difference in someone’s life – directly and personally – can be a life-changing experience for both the individual who receives help and the person who gives it.
FEGS offers a wide array of volunteer opportunities throughout New York City and Long Island for individuals and families. We take the time to find out your skills, talents, and interests and match them with the needs of those we serve.
As a volunteer, you can help a senior citizen remain independent in his/her own home, be a telephone companion to an isolated older adult, tutor a child, help an individual prepare for a job interview, help a refugee prepare for citizenship, lend your emotional support to an individual coping with a terminal illness, and much more.
Our goal is to provide you with a rewarding environment for your concern, caring, and generosity, as well as to help an individual or family in a time of crisis or ongoing need.
FEGS has many organized volunteer programs available, and we are happy to discuss new initiatives, and welcome your suggestions. For more information about volunteer opportunities, call 212.366.8228 or TTY 212.524.1789 or e-mail volunteer@fegs.org.
