Family Violence

FEGS provides a full range of specialized, sensitive, services for women and children coping with domestic violence.

At FEGS’s Center for Women and Families (formerly operated by NYANA, the New York Association for New Americans) caring, experienced professionals provide: crisis intervention, counseling, case management, concrete assistance, legal advocacy around immigration issues, community education and professional training. Services are provided throughout the City of New York.

On Long Island, FEGS clinical specialists provide individual, group and family counseling to women and children coping with past or current abuse, specialized assistance when alcohol is a factor in domestic violence, as well as community education and professional training.

These supportive services help victims begin the process of recovery, cope with the impact of violence on the family and other aspects of victims’ lives, and develop new and more effective diagnostic and treatment strategies – all aimed at maintaining the health, well being, and safety of the family.
