The Bronx Youth Center

The Bronx Youth Center (BYC) provides comprehensive programming to out-of-school, unemployed young adults and helps young people to meet their personal, educational, and professional goals. Operating since July 2002, the BYC provides career preparation activities such as career exploration, internships, advisement, and job search assistance.

Based on the FEGS CareerFirsts® framework, the BYC also prepares participants to enroll in college or a professional training program, and offers workshops on financial literacy and financial aid. GED preparation and college visits emphasize the linkage between higher education and professional success, while opportunities for professional certifications and employment assistance and placement set young people on a meaningful career path.

All young people at the BYC receive support from a FEGS Youth Advisor who helps them to set and attain their goals.
