Refugees & Immigrant Services

Helping refugees and immigrants find their place in America and begin new lives in New York has been part of the F·E·G·S mission for some 75 years. We offer comprehensive services that assist individuals with literacy, acculturation, business skills training, finding employment, becoming U.S. citizens, and more.

• NYANA Immigrant and Resettlement Services at F·E·G·S maintains a wide array of services tailored to the needs of immigrants and refugees. F·E·G·S is designated by the federal and state government as the official affiliate agency for refugee resettlement services for the Jewish community in New York State.

• Special Services for Russian-speaking émigrés, Bukharians, and others are provided within their own communities in Brooklyn and Queens. Computer skills training and ESOL classes are available.

• Brooklyn Resource Center offers English language and literacy training; U.S. citizenship preparation; computer skills training; employment counseling; and job placement. A New York State licensed mental health clinic provides         bi-lingual counseling services.

• Queens Resource and Computer Center serves the Bukharian community and others, with access to computer resources, English language training, and employment preparation.
