Employment Services/Career Development
F·E·G·S offers a variety of employment and
career development services designed to assist Russian-speaking émigrés, Bukharians, baby boomers, professionals who have lost their jobs because of economic conditions, those in career transition, and women who wish to start their own businesses.
- Special Services for Russian-speaking émigrés, Bukharians, and others are provided within their own communities in Brooklyn and Queens. Computer skills training and ESOL classes are available.

- Brooklyn Resource Center offers English language and literacy training; U.S. citizenship preparation; computer skills training; employment counseling; and job placement. A New York State licensed mental health clinic provides
bi-lingual counseling services.

- Queens Resource and Computer Center serves the Bukharian community and others, with access to computer resources, English language training, and employment preparation.

- F·E·G·S Computer Resource Center, supported through a gift from The Shirley and William R. Fleischer Family Foundation, Inc., serves the needs of unemployed individuals of all ages and occupations. Outfitted with the latest hardware and software, the Center offers access to dozens of software applications that users can also access, through F·E·G·S, at their home computers. & Contact Information
- ParnossahWorks™, an online job search and employment assistance system supported by career and employment professionals, reaches job seekers through the UJA-Federation agency network and other Jewish communal institutions. For more information, visit www.ParnossahWorksFEGS.org.
- UJA-Federation of New York’s Connect to Care is a response to the current economic crisis offering the Jewish community an array of employment and career transition services. F·E·G·S offers job networking opportunities, career seminars, computer training, resume preparation, interviewing skills, and more. Connect to Care also provides a variety personal counseling programs and Jewish spiritual care, plus financial, budget, and debt counseling as well as legal services.

- Thypin Oltchick Institute for Women’s Entrepreneurship @ F·E·G·S acts as a clearing house, providing expertise, advice, and referral to women interested in entrepreneurship and small business ownership, helping them determine their needs and guiding them to appropriate resources and services.
