Since its inception over 70 years ago, F·E·G·S has long been considered the premier provider of state of the art employment and training programs to hundreds of thousands of individuals requiring assistance in acquiring or upgrading job skills, and seeking competitive employment. In the early 1930's and 1940's, F·E·G·S' Employment Division was instrumental in designing programs to assist individuals returning from the war in acquiring new job skills and preparing for a changing employment marketplace. Since these beginnings, its Employment Division has evolved into a sophisticated network of employment centers and programs serving diverse populations, and offering a broad range of employment services including employment readiness counseling, job development and job placement.

Using the most up-to-date technology applications to link employers with a diverse and extremely large pool of qualified applicants, F·E·G·S operates employment programs in over 16 locations throughout the boroughs of New York City, Nassau and Suffolk counties. F·E·G·S is considered to be the largest provider of non-fee based employment services in the United States.
