The Developmental Disabilities Services Division serves individuals with diagnoses of mental retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, neurological impairment, and/or autism. The goal of these services is to help participants develop life skills necessary for independence and social adaptability in the community. F·E·G·S' service network is comprised of multiple programs, treatment centers and residential facilities to serve adults with disabilities and their families located in the boroughs of the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens as well as in Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island.

Over 1,200 individuals with developmental disabilities are served daily through the F·E·G·S continuum of case management, clinic, residential, day, family support, and sheltered and competitive employment services. Services range from the most structured milieu to minimal support opportunities. F·E·G·S has also developed a comprehensive family support network, where families of individuals with developmental disabilities benefit from direct services, particularly case management.
